Skincare Doesn’t Have To Be Overwhelming
Over the past few decades, skincare has gotten a little…complicated. In the Middle Ages, skincare consisted of taking a bath once a month. Not too long ago, a scrubbing with some soap and water was the extent of most people’s routines. And then we come to the present.
Walk into a health and beauty store, and you’ll be confronted by rows of eye gels, face scrubs, mud masques, something called gelee, day cream, night cream, lunchtime cream…okay we made that last one up.
The truth is, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
Deep breath. We can help. Yes, there are a lot of products available, but that doesn’t mean every product is right for you or that you have to take out a second mortgage to buy every single skincare item you think you need.
First, start with the basics and focus on quality over quantity. Purchase a good facial cleanser, a facial moisturizer, body lotion, and a night cream. Let these serve as the foundation of your skincare regiment. Look at the ingredients in the products you choose and invest in products with raw, organic, and fresh ingredients that you can actually name. If you look at a product’s ingredient list, and it sounds like it was made in some laboratory with lots of bubbling beakers, then it’s probably not really that good for your skin.
Over time, you can introduce other products into your routine, such as a body scrub, a facial masque, and anti-aging serum. Also, rather than choose blindly, ask for help. Here at the Body Deli, we are available to help you build your best skincare regimen. We can work within your budget and explain which products would be best for your needs and skin type. Don’t be afraid to contact us, or, if you live near Palm Desert, to stop by and say hello.
